There has been news recently that all dinosaurs may have had feathers ! I have also read theories that triceratops may have had quills on its back. So I’m celebrating this new discovery by painting my favorite dinosaur!

I treated myself not too long ago with a very good printer I can use at home. After painting the ink linework I scanned it into my computer and reprinted at 200% size onto some carton bristol where I finished the process with watercolors. This will created a safety net in case I were to mess up (I can always reprint it!). I’d hate to ruin the original linework I’ve done here.

uuuuh. I don't think that Triceratops had feathers, despite the finding of the new dinosaur species in siberia we've discovered. It would have been a dinosaur with a skin texture similar to a rhino's and a crocodile's. Just because scientists have just discovered a non-theropod dinosaur with feathers doesn't mean that all dinosaurs, carnivores and herbivores, had feathers. Sure, we have velociraptors and oviraptoids with feathers and archaeopteryx, but I bet a majority of larger dinosaurs, like deinonychus, tyrannosaurus, triceratops, and spinosaurus, were more likely to have rhino-like/reptilian skin textures. Plus, I doubt that deinonychus had feathers like its smaller cousins did.

The "bristles" seem far too long. Considering the size of Triceratops, they seem about 2-3 metres long and several centrimetres wide. I doubt that keratin could support rigid structure of such size. Also the main coat looks like it is comprised of primary features, which are so far only known from maniraptorans and most likely are a feature found only in this group. I really like the colouration, though (although colored feather are, once again, rather unlikely outside of the maniraptora), let's it blend in very nice with the environment. The feet I'm not that fond of, though, they seem to nnot be "connected" to the shrubs around them.
