very emotional picture.. i was reluctant to post this because i want no credit for it.. its nothing special... its a scanned in slide i have about 50 or so slides of them but this is the only one i managed to scan in.the twin lights were made in rememberance of the twin towers. ... theres nothing else i can say.... god bless and may their sould rest in peace.

I will never forget seeing the towers standing there. I lost my uncle on the 109th floor of the north tower. May the poor souls rest in peace.

And that he does. We were lucky enough to receive his remains and got a federal burial permit so he is buried on our property.

We all have since it happened. My dad was a firefighter back then. When it happened, his department stole the trucks from their garage and just started driving. Not many people understand the brotherhood of firemen. A department from New Lexington, OH was in NY for training, and they were first responders. My dad knew all of them like family, but none made it out. By the time the towers fell, my dad was only half way there. That's when he was hit by depression and ended up retiring from the department. He wrote a poem to hang up in a pizza restaurant in New Lexington that tells the story from a firefighter's prospective. If I was on the department, no doubt I would've made a run for the towers to help my brothers and sisters. Sorry if I'm ranting, but it was a day that tore us apart but brought us together at the same time.

Yes, they still do. But only on the night of the anniversary.

They used to do them in the posisition of the Towers bases on September 11th. I guess they still do it as the memorial with the water falls are the actual bases of of the towers. So I guess they do it around the perimeter of the memorial. On an unrelated note, I'm planning on writing a novel related heavily to the events on September 11th.
