I was doing this picture of Shigure, and I decided he should be sad because he is always so cheery in the anime and manga that it's not possible for him to really be that happy. Only by happenstance did I remember the online Japanese/English dictionary translation of Shigure's name: a drizzle or shower in late autumn or early winter.Related content

I would assume something like a Japanese Akita, Kishu, or Kai ken, possibly some other Japanese breed mix.

This is really nice! Shig is my 3rd favorite Character from Furuba. aND YOU'RE so luck knowing how to draw dogs. I spent my whole life trying to figure out how to draw Animagus Sirius(in other words...snuffles)....

I'm not sure Shigure's name translates to that, 'cause the kanji for "Shi" (the first part of his name) means purple...

For one, all of the characters are *supposed* to have names or nicknames relating to seasons (Haru = Spring, Yuki = Snow). I also thought "shi" was either "4" or "death," not purple...
I did check "shigure" in an English/Japanese dictionary to get my definition, I can check elsewhere as well, but I'm pretty sure it's accurate.
