Truth be told... I've had this idea for a year now.Recently Zutara's been on my mind. Last night had an intensive talk about it... and you know.. the muse finally hit.
1) I know nothing about proper screenplay format so... forgive any mistakes.
2) Excuse the general crappiness of it... I've been sneezing my head off for the past 2 hours.
3) Kataangers.. save it. It's not for you, it's for my fellow Zutarians... so any negative or offensive comments shall be ignored.

There really is no better explanation for what happened at the end of the series. I could've sworn they were going to kiss while watching the episode for the first time. I guess the creators were just messing with us all, but it still is frustrating. Nice job on the artwork and the script.

"My theory is that the creators were nerdy little boys who never got attention from the amazing, talented, beautiful girls they had crushes on, so they wanted to write a story about a goofy kid who gets the girl, and when fans started to see a real, mature, adult relationship developing, instead of acknowledging it and realizing they'd been building it over three season, they just said '...Nope. Keeping the Kataang.'"
As a creative writing university graduate, I can honestly say this is the only thing in the entire series that the writers failed to do properly. Sometimes things happen in your writing that you don't intend, but you're not supposed to fight your characters. You have to let them develop for themselves. Forcing the Kataang at the end was immature and a disservice to Zuko, Katara, the story, and the fan base. If anything, they should have left it open so that fans could make their own decisions. (And then of course not mentioned the lineage in LoK.)

You have just summed up my entire Zutara reasoning in a far more eloquent manner than I would have managed. I, too, find it immature on Mike and Bryan's part to "fight" their characters. Their show was something I had never encountered before (I watched it in between my senior year of high school and my freshman year of college) and the depth was incredible. It was disappointing that they would give in to such a cliche ending. Even an open ending, like you suggest, would have been preferred because it allows the fans to interpret the character development on their own and form their suspicions (headcannons) on their own.

Yeah, totally agreed. I mean, I really mhm FEEL that there, somewhere, WAS Zutara (in the plan of NICK) and then they changed it -.- Kataang is and feels really childish, unrealistic (hey, cΒ΄mon a beautiful young lady and a 2 year younger, a bit goofy AND bald kid?! The mysterious, sexy, manly, cool AND ripped guy is really more better and logical

I agree with you, it seems they realized their mistake and tried to make it up with Makorra, but honestly, I think they screwed up again because I think Kolin is a better shipping. Anyone agree?

Yeah, the kiss with Aang and Katara at the end really surprised me actually. o_o It was just kinda, random. XD I thought Katara and Zuko had a huge moment with that scene, but it totally cut off!! D:
