You didn't? xD When he runs there's always fire coming out of his shoes, or sometimes just hot air, if he isn't running at top speed. Could be useful to dry hair or warm up a room. xD Chaos Energy basically acts as fuel for those mini-thrusters in his shoes, so yeah.
So I thought he could use it anytime to do whatever, if he channels some Chaos Energy into them. That's like having flamethrowers for shoes xD Convenient indeed.
That also could mean that only a proficient Chaos user like Shadow could use them.
Though I suppose stuff like Chaos Spears would be quite hot too, as they make things ignite and explode. Though they are certainly not useful for cooking xD
