Just a bunch of design sketches I did for fun as part of this Air-Race AU...I think Pennrose and Charlotte would probably fly the Lawn Dart in this case!

You'll have to speak with the engineers I suppose!
(But given the time period this setting's technology is based on, twin engines are often faster, or at least equal in speed while allowing for greater weight and increased resiliency.)
(And also with the setting-specific displacement tech, having two engines to power the array pumps and electrical system is often well worth it even for racing craft.)
