I have a lot photos of bactrian camels here Mostly because I love them so much! For some reason ungulates don't get so much attention - that's sad(

This is a lovely shot, he does looks very handsome! I love his fur and his expression is perfect xD his hump is a little out of focus but i actually think that shows off the head more the only thing I would say is maybe his eye is a little blue? But that's the camera so you can't help that I guess, really nice shot!

Humps supposed to be out of focus, that's why I called it portrait
But yes, eye has blue in it. And it's normal because it's reflection from the snow. I like that effect in all ungulates I'm working with. Looks a weird, but beautiful at the same time

The main thing about the good photography - is to show others what your own eye saw. The camera - soulless machine, it just gives you the flat graphic image.
My work is to return this image into reality

What I wanted to say, it's not just photography, it's actual animal's eyes that are interesting

But then camels don't suffer from cold? I thought they were just in warm deserts...

Dromedary camels (or arabian) take cold badly, but some of them can still be acclimatized.
Bactrian camels is a different story. They live(d) in Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan. Why do you think they need such a warm fur? Because winters there get as cold as -40C and summers are up to +40C.
Only thing Bactrian camels don't like - is high humidity, which is the main problem that we have (
