Aaanyway. This is Numair, from Tamora Pierce's Tortall books. I haven't read these in...forever, but something set me off on drawing her characters. Numair is a very strong mage-type guy who tends to use big words cuz he's overeducated. He's also a bit of a pansy. But he is my FAVORITE pansy! ^^ And he's going to get a book to himself, apparently!
The first sketch is Numair having a "Mithros, Minoss, and Shakith!" moment (he also looks younger, to me, so maybe it is when he found out that Ozorne was after him), the second is him burning up his Gift on something (like in the first Immortals book--I actually wanted to draw him a teddy bear, but it didn't come out), and the third (and nicest) is...just random planning/explaining involving a map. I don't know.

Im sorry but the whole, him turning someone into a tree thing- oh yeah huh... yeah, it could have been more fearsome than an apple tree... And what about the whole him trying to punch Ozorne!!!! That took some balls there!!! Yeah!!!

Maybe I should actually draw some Wolf's Rain now...
Also, it is not so much coloring as "omigod, how many different colors can I put into his skin and pass off as shadows?!" It's kind of fun, you should try it.
