Don't let school interfere with your education. Learn on your own. It's a whole big internet out there with tutorials, where you can concern yourself with progress and not 'grades'.

Here's how it went down, our art teacher didn't teach us ANYTHING. She pretty much said to use online tutorials on our own and expect us to do well, even though she Photoshops really well. Then nearer the deadline she realised how clueless we all were and decided to help, a little.
So really the grades for this assignment would show how much I managed to learn in this short period of time. If it wasn't given as work in the first place I doubt I'd be any closer to getting better at it
