Both aren't too user-friendly.

Well done, good to see you trying your hand at something different.
The sun in the cloudy sky interplaying of the sea looks great.
The pier does not quite look right though, which is what I think detracts from the picture. There are no shadows being cast by the posts at the end. Plus the edges of each of the posts should be highlit from the sun.

You're rrright about the pier. I was just copying the photo mindlessly...

OM(utter)G ! You have changed a style !
Did it hurt?
Congrats for the seascape!
The perspective of the dock seems a bit queer, though.

Feeling amusing or something?
I'm not changing any style.

regardless how how much it looks like the other, you still did a great job with the light. I'd probably darken the dock a bit for contrast if anything.

Ah..it'll sound to you like complete excuse-making, but the dock's actually a lot darker..the photo flash falls on it...=\
I wish they'd invent a bigger scanner or something.

Once again you've amazed me with your colour usage. Hey the dock looks similar to a guitar fretboard and pegs. Any connection?

Thank you. And no, it's a coincidence\mistake. The dock's really different in the ref picture...

Nah, the photo has more reddish hue. But i've done indeed a great job by not throwing it out of the window in the process.
