It doesn't matter if she is a pony, a human or a giant cucumber eating monster that loves David Hasselhoff, Dashie is always awesome!I wanted to try making a somewhat realistic, but still a little stylised (like something you'd see in a Disney movie) version of human Rainbow Dash and this is the result.
She has a whole body, but it isn't rigged yet, so here's a portrait for now.
Made in Blender, rendered with Cycles.

I improved the facial expression a bit.

Changed the lighting a bit because her right eye was too dark.

Improved the shape of the mouth corner and the nose.

Changed the position of the ears and made the cheeks a bit narrower.

I was wondering when you were going to post you next piece, it always nice to see new art from you. ^ ^
The only critique I have is the face feels a bit wide. This maybe what's causing the creep factor for some, it also makes the face lose some depth to me. Like the backside of the face is on the same plan as the front of the face.
And if you don't mind, how did you do the rainbow in blender? It looks so nice.

The rainbow is a modelled flat arc with two gradient textures. One for the different colors and one for fading it out toward the ends.

Oh, nice. That's a very simple solution. I don't know if I would have thought of that, I probably would have just used a transparent texture on a flat plane.
But your solution give you a lot more options to work with.

Yeah, this 3d stuff isn't everyones cup of tea, it falls into the uncanny valley so incredibly easy, especially with humans.
I did some improvements since you wrote that comment though... is it still creepy to you and if so, do you have any constructive criticism?
