[ID: A digital drawing of Willow Park and Boscha from the Owl House in their school uniforms. Willow smiles excitedly while pouring a yellow-orange potion that makes orange-red smoke. In the background, Boscha leans on her elbows, one hand on her cheek with a smitten expression. End ID]
What if Willow tried different tracks at Hexside? Maybe it’s the fanfics, but I would think that she’d be a great triple track student in Plants, Potions, and Healing. She’s obviously talented with plants and she’s been much happier since switching to the plant track. I wouldn’t want to take that away from her, but she might find she has other aptitudes that are less readily apparent.
Healing with plants would be a natural extension of her abilities, especially with how much she cares for her plants and her friends.
It’s probably because I read too many Boschlow fanfics, but I have the feeling that Potions has a lot of overlap with Plants. It’d probably be easy to use her knowledge of plants which are ingredients for potions when making them. The only problem is the possibility of being stuck in a class with Boscha so having them on friendly terms would be pretty great. This is supposed to be Willow giving potion making a chance and being excited about having made her first working potion. She’s the type of witch who cares about grades. I get the impression that despite and perhaps because of her “Half-A-Witch” reputation she cares about how well she does initially at a type of magic so types of magic that have significant overlap with plants would be the best for match for her. I think she’d try healing first and with the confidence she got from that going well, she’d be willing to try making a potion. Boscha’s there because I’m a shipper, and she was Willow’s partner in making that potion, but this was mostly about Willow’s other possible tracks.
