The supermarket is full of too many choices!

That's also what cell phones are for! I've yet to see a guy in the 'feminine products' isle on his phone asking "is it the supers you need or the one with wings?"

Item # 33/97: peanut butter

"hmmm... this one is cheaper, but the sodium is a little high... gotta watch my sodium after that damn 20/20 special I saw. hmmm... sodium is low on this one, but gosh, I'm not made of money...hmmmm... how about that one, no, damn, it's owned by Kraft. I boycotted them. hmmm... here's a good one... but looks like the sodium is a little... low..... sigh...."

Nice shot. His gut says it all.

Did he notice you were taking his picture? I've always wanted to take pictures in the grocery, but I always think I'm going to get scolded by some
mother. We're not really s'posed to have them in school, either. *sigh*

adamkozlowski In reply to Gonzale [2007-02-27 17:16:57 +0000 UTC]

Come on, it's Dutch.

I don't forget the list, but never stick to it... I always forget to go shopping AFTER dinner, not BEFORE.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Suzage In reply to adamkozlowski [2007-02-27 21:51:11 +0000 UTC]

It's not Dutch. It looks more like Afrikaans.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

adamkozlowski In reply to Suzage [2007-02-27 21:59:49 +0000 UTC]

I'm totally sorry, made an ass of myself... I checked it in Google, indeed - that's Afrikaans. You're right. for You...

cheers!

No worries - the languages are very closely related, I can very much understand your assumption.

Gonzale In reply to adamkozlowski [2007-02-27 17:54:17 +0000 UTC]

well i'm not a language expert MISTER

i always shop before dinner, the shop closes at 8 here

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

adamkozlowski In reply to Gonzale [2007-02-27 18:19:35 +0000 UTC]

then you must be very good at self control if you shop before dinner and still manage to buy cheap oh well, i envy you...

Suzage In reply to Gonzale [2007-02-27 16:09:42 +0000 UTC]

Looks Afrikaans

I always forget my list too, and do grocerieshopping when I'm hungry. And that's just when I need to stick to that freaking list, otherwise I buy wayyy too much.

Gonzale In reply to Suzage [2007-02-27 16:17:47 +0000 UTC]

i'm good at buying food for two weeks for less than 15 euros. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

adamkozlowski In reply to Gonzale [2007-02-27 17:22:11 +0000 UTC]

Ha, in Poland that's easy.

But Paris... well, it's doable too, i guess but the standard of food for the same price is lower.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gonzale In reply to adamkozlowski [2007-02-27 17:54:40 +0000 UTC]

yep, life is more expensive down here.

adamkozlowski In reply to Gonzale [2007-02-27 18:22:06 +0000 UTC]

We'll see... i'm gonna be there again end of april. Hurray! But i'm beginning to see that hotels in Poland are more expensive than in France, particularly comparing capitals - Warsaw and Paris. I know why i dislike that city, i mean Warsaw - it's way overpriced.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gonzale In reply to adamkozlowski [2007-02-27 18:41:37 +0000 UTC]

hm strange
i always considered paris hotels as expensive, but you're probably more informed than i.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

adamkozlowski In reply to Gonzale [2007-02-27 21:10:24 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i was quite surprised, but indeed - so when you come to Poland - avoid hotels, stay with friends only. i'm coming to Paris with friends, if there was just me and my Joanne, then we'd try to stay with someone from dA or hospitalityclub/globalfreeloaders, but we're going there in a group of 5 - that's too much to handle.

oh well, i'm talking too much, as always, sorry :* cu

weile In reply to Suzage [2007-02-27 23:54:49 +0000 UTC]

i recommend split peas, beans (black, pinto, etc...), buckwheat, corn, and lots of spices. and, um... apples and citrus fruits, because those are the cheapest fruits. this could cost you 10 dollars/euros and last a couple weeks. (bags of beans and peas are between 60 and 90 cents!!! and they make a lot of food.)

I always end up mixing this stuff up into mushes and adding spices and herbs. it looks weird (brown, mushy) but it is SO DAMN GOOD.
