Hmm, it's true xD I dunno I guess it's just that I'd like to try stuff people haven't seen before, unless I have an idea I fall in love with then someone else does it first, if I loved it enough I'll say nooooope still doing it xD but yeah you just did such a good job I won't do it cause I'll be in my mind comparing mine and so it'd be better for me to focus on this other stuff I have some really cool ideas I just need to get them out before someone else beats me to it haha

and np I was so scared of sounding like all snooty and critical lol, but I know I hate looking at my work and seeing a mistake knowing other people have seen the version with the mistake so I try to fix mine asap, still got some editing to do on my Cosmoth lol

lol finding entirely original concepts is a tricky thing - even today people are using ideas and concepts by the ancient greeks, and the same is true with art. The trick with designs is finding a unique twist to add to something to make it your own thanks again for the kind words only compare yourself to yourself though if you work towards beating your own skills it helps development, because everyone has their own style and there's certainly nothing wrong with yours, you have a lovely gallery

Heheh no, not at all, if something is amiss that I didn't intend, I'd rather know about it sometimes I get excited to upload the final product and end up missing the odd little thing here or there

Yeah it's true, I've been brainstorming my own stuff though and really going into detail on say the legendaries but not based so much on greek stuff more just stuff I find interesting, what I'm doing is focusing a lot on evolution and forms because it adds a whole new layer to things and stops it being as linear, and it can make a particular line be more interesting than your standard bird line, example my bird becomes a kingfisher instead of a woodpecker if evolved on water and so on. Also thanks it helps and sinks in, and it is very much appreciated ^^ you're awesome I think I'll keep proper contact with you on here lol

Btw I did the same thing on Illusio, was like omgomg I've done an evo hardly anyone seems to have done, uplooooooad, later had to redo the WHOLE moustache cause it was different on one side than the other haha

Heheh thank you, I'm happy to be of assistance I'm often around on here, so I'm not difficult to find I know what you mean, evolution in the game is an important thing for me - it's sometimes tough to get the progression right, but very rewarding when you do it's a good idea to have different methods of evolution; I went for a brighter colour for mine because I'm soooo bored with all the standard drab colours

LOL yeah I've done plenty of similiar things before, you're not on your own there it is very annoying when you come up with a pretty original idea and then several other people seem to follow afterwards with similiar things

Awesome ^^ ah yeah you're from the UK too and yeah it's just nice to have stuff with flexability rather than being bland, I want to try my best not to make the pokemon I make really forgetable, like I saw a guy who did one based on a book worm which will always come to mind when I'm thinking of original designs etc. Also I am really not sure how I am with colours xD

I think what you said there though is partially why I'd not dabble too much in stuff other people have already beaten me to xD but I will deffo continue to make stuff I love so I'll try and get some of the design stage out of the way today for some of my ideas, will let you know how that goes ^^

Yeah some designs just stick with you. The one thing I don't like at the moment is that people still don't really have much of a criteria for fairy types, so they're just throwing it on various designs and hoping it sticks invariably it doesnt! I love the colours on the sea snake, it's lovely

Cool, good luck ultimately it's up to you whether you avoid them or not, as long as you have fun designing that will show through

Well I definitely agree there, though I have some fairies on my dex, including legendaries but I have reasons for that, and I try to make them interesting, I hope you'll approve ^^ I've just added another gender of the snake Mariine if you'd like to see it [= thanks so much for the compliments too

Hopefully it'll definitely show through cause this really is so much fun to do ^^

I think it's great that people are experimenting with the new type and it's good that it's popular. It's just I've seen some REALLY weird additions; someone added a fairy type to a turtle because... well I dont' know why. Probably because it had a bit of pink on it I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with

Haha xD see that's a bad reason, like pink isn't the only thing fairies are associated with lol, I like that it's popular too, since it's an official thing now it would seem strange to make a dex excluding fairies

Yeah, it's definitely brought up some interesting designs and I have seen some great ones too I just think until it becomes official what the criteria is, just assuming 'pink is fairy' is not a great approach I've got a few fairy types that are pink too, though mostly it's due to their other attributes they got the typing

^^ it's good to look at fairies in lore, I feel like the criteria will always be open like with pokemon I feel they're going for the mystical bright and dainty look

Yeah I love fairy folklore which is pretty dark and twisted when it gets down to it, but I think Nintendo is going for the flower fairy look :/ hopefully they'll mix it up a bit though

lol from greek mythology Pan is a nature diety / trickster who takes the form of a satyr, so Pan's Labrynth was named after him (and for the satyr in the film)

I've heard the film is really dark yeah, I don't like it too dark but it looked really inspirational for other work I do so ^^ look forward to it, I've proposed the idea of watching it to my mate already haha

Ah, I used to live in a city but I didn't like it. I was raised in the country, so it was quite a big change. I prefer a slower pace to life and a quieter night lol

On the subject of fakemon I have started my full dex sheet I quite like it I used the one PNG with the half and half pokeballs straight and rotated slightly. I wanna somehow make it feel more my own though. And I have an idea for the version names but I'm not entirely sureyet, gonna be working on my 2 fave legendaries today though

It's definitely something it suits some people more than others, but if you're tired with city life, it's worth a try

Oh great, the version names don't seem like they'd be important but somehow they are It always takes me a while to create an interface for a dex or something, but then it comes together more or less in one big rush! I'll look forward to seeing it, it's always good to see dexes and have all the designs side by side

^^ yeah the version names X and Y for example, so simple and they were ridiculed by some but are probably the deepest version names so far

First 3DS versions - X Y Z planes
Legendaries - X and Y themes

Usually it's just the pokemon madcots colours lol

As for my dex, well I just made a new journal outlining my plan and that I have 75 fakemon currently ready to be drawn excluding those already done and uploaded, can't wait to add them to the sheet they really do look good side by side

Not that I'm aware of, but who knows? We don't really know much about the game still so it's possible it could be nothing or there could be some obscure link in the story

Yeah, I wanted the first dex to be gen 1-like and the second to be gen 2-like I think for me I'm going to be using my designs for an online game myself, which is why I'm not doing commissions
