Oof. I personally favor Doki Doki Literature Club as one of the best horror games out there. I haven't played it myself because I don't have the proper software but I love watching gameplays of it online. I've never been a fan of jumpscares and monsters and all that stuff when it comes to horror. I've always loved more physiological horror. Yes DDLC has it's fair share of easteregg jumpscares, but when it comes down to what makes it creepy, it's really just the mental breakdown you have while playing. It really makes you rethink reality.

For those of you who do not know what "hxppy thxughts.png" is, I do not recommend looking it up if you're easily disturbed. The game itself can be disturbing at times, and if you absolutely cannot handle suicide, self harm, and overall just mental horror, I would advise to stray away from DDLC.
