Description
Echoes of laugher and merriment filled the Nook's halls, its tenants making the most out of being snowed in for the week.Pine stared aimlessly out the window while their runeboo lay curled and asleep next to the fireplace, softly snoring. The pair had been confined to one of the sitting rooms for the day, Pine having caught a bad case of the Snitzer Fytz and Alma hoping to prevent it from further spreading this way. Normally, Pine would hate being cooped inside all day and become restless, but today they were sluggish.
Usually one to try and cover up their symptoms, this behavior was abnormal for the little wyngling.
The Ftyz made them feel icky, sure, but today that wasn’t the main source of their obvious misery. It was the annual Eggtravaganza- an event Alma had started to help encourage more adoptions during the colder season- that was getting to them. Pine had watched so many eggs find new families with jealous eyes, a sick feeling in their stomach as they wondered if that would ever be them. They had lost count of how many months had passed since their mum had left them alone in Wynsiph as a baby- and she had left no sign of ever coming back for them.
Pine sniffled, rubbing as their nose with a paw. It wasn’t fair- they wanted a family again too. Yet no visiting adults ever seemed to want them, coming, sometimes playing with them, but always inevitably leaving without Pine. Alma would try to reassure Pine, saying that one day the right family would come along, but any hope Pine still had deteriorated with each passing month.
They just wanted their own family again.

Please note that I am not looking for offers for a parent for Pine, I've already got some plans for them.
