I haven't really done any tutorials or show you guys how I draw, have I? I did something more than an art trade so I'm enjoying drawing his Inksona way too much. XD

Depending how the artist drew their character, I'll also mimic their certain style to make their character/OC more recognizable. So in a way, I tried to combine my art style with Atarsto's style. Because when I do that, I'll also learn different ways how to draw his Bobble Hat for example. I normally draw Bobble Hat that is nice and curved, but Atarsto's hat is sharp and jagged. Like lightning almost. It's interesting how we drew things differently. ^^

1. I start the drawing by adding the circle at the centre for the base of his head. The circle shape fortunately doesn't have to be perfect. Then I added two curve lines for the neck, and two slopes for the shoulder.

2. I temporary used guidelines on his face to indicate where to place the eyes, nose, and mouth/grin. I also added the v-like lines for the hoodie shirt.

3. Added pupils and the swirl in his eyes are inspired by Atarsto's Inksona design. Then I added the hoodie at the back, and on his shoulders (to be honest, I'm still having a lot of difficulties drawing hoodie sweater. The way I drew them overtime is quite inconsistent. For now, it looks decent enough).

4. The guidelines is not needed anymore so I erased that. I looked at Atarsto's reference closely, and drew his hair like it should be as best as possible.

5. There's a big step here. I erased all the unneeded sketchy lines, including his left-eye. I also shadowed around the upper-part of his face similarly how Atarsto normally drew his Inksona. When I'm satisfied drew his hair, I finally added the Bobble Hat.

6. Once I'm satisfied with the sketch, I used Tapered Pen to outline his Inksona for some dynamic weight in each line. Right there, that is an line-art completed.

6. (extra) When his Inksona is looking down at you, you have this kind of feeling of vulnerability and overpower by his gaze. I emphasize that mood by the use of shading, and lighting effect. The light-source is below him and so the shading is located around the top of his design features. Fortunately, there is NO precise way how to shade (even I'm confused what I'm doing, I simply guess where to shade. Intuition too.). I added small streak of white lines on the hair to point out tentacles is you know, silky and shiny. Not ordinary hair. And finally the background - the unsettling colours is seen in your (viewer's) perspective. Inferior, and defenceless. So yeah...even using only two colours can tell many stories and emotions.
