Description My art submission to "Splatoon OC Fan Art Contest!" hosted by my awesome friend, DoubleStar1000 This is the drawing of Maniac-Kun, his very own Inkling FC from the game Splatoon. I'm really happy out this drawing turns out, my favourite part of this piece are the details on his Varsity Jacket and the coloring on his tentacle-"hair". The Studio Headphone could use some work, but I don't know how to make it better. XD The colouring tentacles are inspired by how (tamarinfrog.deviantart.com ) coloured Inkling's/Octoling's tentacles. ^w^

Ohhh very pretty, everything looks so fantastic, I especially love the detail of the jacket. You also did a good job of staying true to his original design but also adding your own style to it as well. I love the ink splatters different places, it is a very cool touch ^.^ The tentacles looks very lovely as well, it is awesome to get inspiration

Thank you Inkcus! His jacket have so much details, they took the longest I think. xD  But yeah, I'm really happy the overall drawing turned out. The Studio Headphone are the most flawed though, it's so hard to draw. ;u;

Drawing in others' style is fun and makes the drawing much more unique. It'll be too boring if I draw in my art style completely for every of my drawing. >  Thanks! Reference guides me how to draw the ink/blood splatter. TamarinFrog's drawing are very nice, she's also my inspiration to make Splatoon OCs. You should check out that artist's drawings. ^^

You really have upped your game with this pic. The amount of detail in this pic proves it. I love the blending of blues you used to do the Tentacle hair. I also love Tamarinfrog's art as well. Good call using her art as inspiration. It really improves the piece.

What I really like is the feeling of movement with his arm and the ink coming from  his arm and on his face. I don't think I've seen blood to ink conversion before. That jacket looks great as well. After looking at the reference, you seemed to have captured all of the details in it.

    Thank you, drawing this exceed my expectation mostly. ^_^ TamarinFrog's colouring for the tentacles is specifically inspired how she coloured character's tentacle hair from her Unseen Friendship short-comic. I really love her drawings too and they're also the main reason why I wanted to have Splatoon OCs, she is very inspiring. Though I really miss her cute art style back in late 2015. I honestly not fond of her current art style anymore, but oh well, it's my unfortunate opinion. She can use any art style whenever she want, sorry. XD

I think ink are also part of their blood too, since Inklings are shape-shifter creatures. I don't know, it's hard to make logic out of this. XD Thanks! References are best friends.

Wow! Just... WOW!!! This looks amazing! His out fit looks so detailed! His tentacles are wonderfully textured! And his ink! It's incredibly realistic! This just might be one of your best pieces yet!

I spend way too much time on this, Maniac's design are very complexed. :''D Though I need more practise drawing the Studio Headphone, it looks off. XD I am very happy how the tentacle-hair turned out especially, that's why drawing Inklings are the best thing ever haha.

The Boo outift only covers down to her bottom waist which Kichona's legs can freely move around. Her arms though have to kept inside, barely move Boo's arm. And as for the top, Kichona's head pop out around the upper area of the costume so she can see her surroundings. I hope these make sense, sorry if I didn't. XD

Got it! And don't worry, it all makes sense! And the bit about the arms helps me with a conflict I've been dealing with. I realized that the costume would probably go out to her elbows, leaving only half of her arms truly mobile. I'm debating posing her with arms up in happiness, or townwards with clasped hands in a cutesy fashion.
