A sequel to the original "What happened to Spyro" [link]============
After my last one became more popular than I has originally thought, I decided to make a sequel.

"Skylander's" is the new Spyro game of course and well, I cant help but think they did a even WORSE job on Spyro. Making TOLS (The legend of Spyro) look a tad more appealing.. Spyro has really gone downhill, I miss Insomniac
. I am a HUGE Spyro fan, I have been ever since "Spyro The Dragon" was released on PlayStation. However, I refuse to play this game, or any of the past probably 3-4 games, I can say the last one I played was Spyro Eternal Night, and well I didn't play it long.. The levels are too long, too repetitive also, there is like nothing but fighting weird monkey things and the gems? Ya they heal you and whatever. Gems just lost their value. I mean its not fun? . Bring back the old Spyro, all us old fans really miss him!

I appreciate your opinion on TLoS, but tbh, i prefer the TLoS games. I'm not a huge fan of the old games due to the lack of real actions or attacks. Flame breat, charge, maybe a cannon or two. That's all you had, but in TLOS, Whoo boy. If the games were longer and had more content, that would be BEAUTIFUL. The music was gorgeous, the gameplay was filled with action, and the characters were better in probably every way (Except for the part of spyro that makes him look like he hit a bus...)- Better voices, better stories, and, well, Cynder. All i can say.

Here's all the things the game would need to be perfect-
-Actual levelling
-Longer, more engaging story
-More content/longer game
-And probably more music to with the longer game. Remember, only 4/5 original levels. Not enough moosic

Anyway. I really don't get why people like the "Legend of Spyro" design. Honestly, even if it's not as bad as the Skylanders one, it's still very ugly. His horns are crooked and weird looking, and his face, much like Skylanders, is all wrinkled and looks smashed in. Unique to this abomination however is the fact the LOS "Spyro" always looks dazed, tired and apathetic, like he just wants to pass out and not care about anything in the world. Also, his chest is disproportionately bulky, which adds to his slouching appearance as it looks like it would weigh him down. Combined with that dazed look, he just can't be taken seriously as a protagonist. In contrast, Classic Spyro has a badass, determined look in his eyes, like he's ready to take on anything, and also stands tall and proud. The mohawk on Classic Spyro looks waaaay cooler than the spikes on LOS "Spyro's" head. Classic Spyro's wings also look much more stable, too. So all in all, LOS "Spyro" is completely inferior when compared to Classic Spyro, and does not remotely represent the character.
By the way, I'd also like to say that everyone who says that the character design doesn't matter is an IDIOT. First of all, anyone who doesn't care about the design, wouldn't care if they changed Spyro from a dragon to a literal pile of crap with pink and orange polka dots and gave him a chipmunk voice. A definite lack of standards. In fact, doing so wouldn't change the gameplay in the slightest, yet dramatically affect the quality of the game. No, gameplay isn't the only thing that matters, and character design IS important. It gives the character their looks, their personality, their overall feel; it determines how you perceive them, and most important of all, it is who you, the player, are playing as, being the protagonist. And frankly when I play Spyro, I certainly don't want to play the whole game as some butt-ugly lizard/fish/gremlin/whatever thing (or a pile of dung for that matter).

If your just going to judge Spyro just by his looks than that is very blind of you. In "The Legend of Spyro", Spyro was a more identifiable and mature character, and the story was better in terms of elements of war, identity searching, Responsibility, love & sacrifice. But for skylander, Go ahead and hate on them because that insult to all the supporters of the franchise was just for money.

Spyro was my childhood, in fact he's what got me into drawing. I had played through every single one of the games ((Apart from the new ones just, no)) and I hate how much he's changed. I mean, where is Sparks, the elder dragons? Everything. I hated his new design and it just put me off that game completely. That's not even Spyro anymore.

-legend spyro has 3 games
-there are 4 spin-offs
-and skylanders has 6 games and they are working on number 7

To be honest, you're absolutely correct. We won't win. Atleast not while activision is alive. Trust me, it will come back someday, due to activision just... Dying. not of bankruptcy or anything, like that'd happen, but just from disintegrating. But i digress. Just because we can't kill Skylanders, does that mean we can't hate it, and keep memories of the better games? No! We can keep these memories all we want. We CAN hate skylanders either way. So there's really no point in you saying give up, because let's be honest, there's nothing TO give up here. We're not trying to kill skylanders- at least, not all of us- so we don't need to give up.

I don't understand why you support skylanders? Was that your first Spyro game? You do realize how much they fucked up Spy, Cyn, and Sparx right? And don't say it's the most successful of all the spyros because it's not. This isn't spyro anymore.

Eh, KH is pretty good. You should have gotten the Legend of Spyro games on it. A new beginning, the eternal night, and ESPECIALLY DotD. I loved Dawn of the Dragon.

Yes, but the scales are so... obvious. I mean, they can be seen faintly on the DotD Spyro, and when you do see them, they look great, but they're so obvious in Skylanders... Not to mention his color being off.

first/original spyro was cute. second young spyro (TLOS: A New beginning & The Eternal night) was kinda cuter. but original still better. TLOS DOTD spyro is the best.....

I heard that the only reason Insomniac sold Spyro was because he can't hold a gun. They wanted to move on to shooting games. To me, that's not a good reason to give him away because one of the characters in Spyro used a gun. Universal was originally going to own him until Activision got to him, which are known to be selfish money grubbers. XD
