Just "finished" this... I'm stopping now, because I have yet to study for the two other finals I need to take tomorrow.. yikes!! It's a bit sloppy, I know, but let's just say I was going for that effect, ha
I'll be turning this in for my art final (I know it's not perfect, but I'm not too worried since my teacher always gives me A+s). My teacher had no clue I did digital art, haha. This painting was sort of a new experience for me!
Back to studying! Hope you all are well.
I might come back to this later and fix it up a bit (:
EDIT: After finally getting the chance to read through your comments, I realized that I never linked to my reference! It's a GORGEOUS picture, I just had to draw it
I added the third cub because I wanted to x3 I used a separate reference for him, but can't seem to find it. mrr. click!

This is such a warm piece of art! The room in's in is freezing but for some odd reason, my eyes have found paradise. My eyes are toasty warm!!

This is absolutely beautiful. I love how it's all one color. Great lighting as well. I just kind of wish there was a little more detail in the lions. I don't know if it would improve the picture any so it is more of a personal thing. XD +fav

I agree about more detail... If I recall, at the time I was (as usual) rushing to meet a deadline, hee. I definitely want to fix it up or create something new with a similar concept and more realism at some point, though.

all this gold is GORGEOUS. i think i recently developed a thing for sunglow-y golds.
it might be "sloppy" but it's very tasteful. n_n the viewer has everything they need! the shading is simple but effective and correct, not to mentions lions are HELLONURSEadorable.
