About Aktu: Aktu has ... an interesting view of the world. He came to hatch early one morning when the first ray of morning sunlight touched the brown egg, prompting his parents to name the wyngling Aktu, meaning ray of light.
Ever since then it seems as if the boy could only see the dark side of things. Everything in the world is terrible and horrible in Aktu's mind. A bleak existence filled with pain and suffering. However, contrary to what one may think, this makes the child immensely happy.

Aktu's is fiercely protective of his sister, Orabel. She is the only thing in the world, not even his mind can see as anything other than the bright, shiny bubble of happiness she is. Any wyngling who dares hurt her will have to deal with the little dark prince.
