Dovev wasn't quite sure how he had signed up for this class. He had only been practising writing his name, he had never intended to actually join something, certainly not something with so many wyngro in it. His plan had been to flee the classes when he first realised what was happening, but then he had seen the teachers demonstrate strange skills he had never seen before.

He needed to know more.

With fascination, Dovev had taken a seat at the back of the class and did his absolute best to learn, carefully listening to the explanation and watching the demonstrations with as much attention as he could spare, but they just spoke so quickly it was impossible for the inexperienced speaker to keep up.
The teachers seemed to issue an order and everyone went off to do something, leaving the fox on his own and very confused. Not wanting to give up he slunk his way into the town after the class, being careful to keep to the shadows. After watching the other students he started to notice something, they all seemed to be doing. Each wyngro was using the strange skills to catch the rock sucking birds and bring them back to the teachers.

A teacher stood in the town square, amid the chaos laughing. Dovev had quietly approached the biped and asked for a recap on how to use the skill.The wyngro was only too happy to explain. Apparently, the strange light was caused by something called magic and he could use it if he focused his mind. Realising the town square was far too unnerving for him to focus in he made his way away from the strange, once far away enough, Dovev closed his eyes and concentrated. Feeling the world around him as the big brown wyngro had said. It wasn't long before the quad's magic glands lit up and he could feel all sorts of strange things around him. Blocking it out he focused on the rock suckers. He pictured their rounded bodies and their tiny feet, in his mind he could see one of those tasty creatures trudging about and then suddenly he could feel it.

Following the feeling of tiny footsteps, Dovev made his way towards the nearby lake. There, in the water, a little rock sucker was jumping along, making it's way to a large rock in the water. The glow of magic left Dovev as his movements slowed and his body became rigid. Slowly he crept up behind the bird. Each step was carefully placed on the large rock, just beneath the surface of the shimmering pool. One step at a time he inched closer, his eyes never leaving the dumb creature, who was now attempting to break off a piece of the large rock. With practised effort Dovev launched himself forward, easily nabbing his prey. As he made his way back to the teachers, his prize within his jaws, he couldn't help but wonder why they needed so much food.

Woo, some more homework done! And yet another clueless child in class this time.
At least he got a puckoo back, hopefully, whoever it belonged to wasn't too attached to the bird...
