Description
This is my version of a main character from the movie The Secret of Kells. I am terrible at explaining, so you'll just have to go watch it. Anyway, this is my first "colored" picture. There isn't much color, but I still colored it. I ground up some Number 2 pencil graphite and used my forefinger and thumb to color her clothing. Coloring with my fingers feels more natural and personal.Related content

I have a preference to do that technique to my images as well. I have to agree with the "natural and personal" part. With that said, this is nicely done. In fact, your technique added a unique texture to her clothing.

Thank you. I find it hard to "draw" texture, so I use different textured implements to create them. My fingers just happen to be the easiest to use and are always ON HAND when I need them. XD

You can try getting other kinds of textures by doing it on different surfaces, too. It's worth experimenting anyways, but they're not always "on hand". xp
