She is the works of planning for Cosplay for a Wonder Woman group that I'm currently with. Β She is set to be my cosplay for May/June of 2016.

i wonder if wonder woman can get her own animated series without it being quickly cancelledΒ

Well that really depends on WHO is running Cartoon Network. It doesn't seem that CN wants to cater to DC (ironically since both are owned by WB)
But yes, a WW animated series would be very self sufficient.

this actually seems more like what an amazon would wear as compared to the bikini thing she does.

The crazy sad note to this great piece is that all *I* added was the Greek dress, and then surprise! Her entire look changed.....for the better, imo.

Gorgeous. All the iconic symbols of WW are there; she's recognizable as Wonder Woman, but weird stuff like the star-spangled underpants and the magical gravity-defying bust are treated a lot more realistically. Nice job.

This is phenomenal; it's got to be my favorite rendition of Wonder Woman that I've seen. Β It makes her look really awesome and respectable while still simultaneously drawing from her Greek roots and New 52 aesthetics. Β Everything from the toga to the gloves to the background just seem perfect to me, though I do sort of wonder why she's got glowing yellow in her hair, unless she's using her lasso to tie it up, which is a neat idea. Β Anyway, great job.

Thanks!
Thats exactly what she's doing. I SO stole that idea from Cliff Chiang from....issue #8, I think. I thought it was clever to have that type of detail incorporated into something as mundane as a hair tie.

Oh, man I dunno! It just could be like minds thinking the same? That WW 'trailer' or whatever...I'm still processing it. It looked great, but there's something that bugging me about it. I haven't put my finger on it yet....

ChibiKachi [2013-09-23 20:29:01 +0000 UTC]
I love the fact you incorporated a toga for her in her hero outfit. That seems so much more genuine in something that would have been created for her on the island.

tsbranch In reply to ChibiKachi [2013-09-28 12:41:04 +0000 UTC]
Agreed! Its small details like that, that can tie her more of her Amazon ways. Like her choker/necklace, I found something similar Greek women wore back then. She's an interesting balancing act of making her modern but having enough ties to the past that she doesn't lose her....past....if that makes sense.

ChibiKachi In reply to tsbranch [2013-10-05 03:27:12 +0000 UTC]
Yes! All the little details make the picture great. I love her torc because I could easily imagine her wearing something like that on the island. A nod to jewelry that isn't so dainty that it gets in the way of fighting but that she would like because she finds it pretty. That you have Diana wear her hair back as well instead of hanging loose is another great detail too. Not a lot of super heroines wear their hair back which I always found odd since it makes it such a tempting sight to grab a hold of in a fight but then again that would be a villain taking their life into their own hands since they can back up the skill in fighting to make them let go.

tsbranch In reply to ChibiKachi [2013-10-05 12:01:25 +0000 UTC]
I can't take credit for the pulled back hair....totally stole it from Cliff Chiang's look for her in WW #8, I think. Its a great detail, not only to pull back her hair but to hold her lasso since it can be as long or as short for her.

I... don't really like this. I mean, don't get me wrong, there's nothing inherently wrong it's just...
I think it's the Piping. It bothers me. It just looks way to "high-tech" for an Amazon warrior. I get it with most of your other redesigns but it just doesn't feel like it fits Diana to me.
Sorry.

Hey man, that's okay! I totally understand. Its funny, when I started this direction with Diana's look, the armor was more simple very....Cliff Chiang-ish, then it got a bit more complicated and people were saying it was very Kirby/Fourth World like and I embraced that idea a bit more.
I still appreciate the comment!

Yeah, I hear ya. A lot of people say there's a cool Kirby vibe to my design, which I'm totally cool with! I'm mostly drawing inspiration from what they've done with Thor in the films and comics. A modern look for a 'classic' style.
