If you download a trial version of photoshop and use "selective color" or "hue saturation" you can adjust to colors to get it close to the original. Of course gimp is also an option, but photoshop is much better.... and the trial is free... if you feel your chance on the contest is worth the extra 30min/1hr. Nice work.

Traditional media always looks better in person. You should see the diggerence when you try to scan a copic picture! To someone who didn't know what it looked like to begin with, though, it looks pretty good. : )
