I first maded several copy/past of the first dress. Next did deformations and end by made some rubber and density/light change for improve the volume perception.

(For your picture, be carefull of they proportions. the horse part is too long and it give an unatural look. If you put the stomach of the girl were they are the shadow of the arm, It will look's better I think).
