I drew this in Paintbrush, Microsoft Paint equivalent for Mac, as a challenge. Β Came out alright.
Goes to show getting the best program or the most powerful computer, doesn't mean much. You have to focus on your art abilities, not the program, for its just another tool. Like a pencil.

This is what I like to see and for the reason you stated above. It doesn't matter the tools you used, what makes good (or this case fabulous) art is practice and experience. I once saw a speedpaint of someone making a realistic Santa in Paint and man, that was amazing.
But honestly though, this looks amazing. It looks like you used the Paint equivalent of the airbrush tool to do the shading and lighting and it turned out fabulous. Sadly I was never able to master the airbrush. XD
