Speed Drawing Video [link]Phew, finally done. I have to say I enjoyed drawing this. It has been a while since I did a big project with a pencil, and the first real background with one too.
This is Nova, an OC by in his Spyro fan story The Reedemer. It's a great read. From the bio of Nova it goes into her background. In a nutshell she lives in a floating island high in the sky. Malefor wants it for strategic reasons. This is my concept of Nova flying around with Concurrent Skies in the background. Also it was described as a paradise before Malefor's attack, so I imagined what that would look like.
Materials: 9" X 12" Bristol Smooth Paper, Charcoal, Graphite, Patience, Music.

Thank you, this is the first background I did with pencil. I did it purely from left to right, you could see it in the speed drawing video i made.

oh my god, just wow, oh my god. I love how you put the moon in the back ground behind concurrent skies, and the image you gave Nova of flying at top speed. I'm going to have to color this one, hope you don't mind...

Yep, that's my concept of Nova's place in her bio. Before Malefor's attack. I felt like I was drawing for a game or movie. (concept artists has all the fun). To make her look fast I decided to add those blur streaks and more importantly the sonic boom (only reference I used.)
And sure, go ahead and color it. Only you can use it, just give credit and create a thumb of the original in the artists comments.

you bet. it's to bad you couldn't use a somewhat "Real" sonic boom where the cone of pressure waves covers up the nose and slides backwards over the craft, but then it would have obscured her head.

Yeah it would, I then tried to imagine what it looked like after she broke the sound barrier. I don't know if a real sonic boom lingers after the aircraft but this is fantasy.
