Description A famous phrase of the Texas Revolution was 'Come and Take It.' This is a reference to the canon that was stationed in San Antonio by Mexico. When the battles of the revolution began, Texas moved it to Gonzales. One of the battles was started as Mexico made the attempt to retrieve it, but the Texas soldiers drove them back.

This resulted in one of the famous flags flown during the revolution. The flag has the image of the canon and a star on it, and the words Come And Take It were on the flag as a challenge to the enemy.

April 21, 1836 is the day of the Battle of San Jacinto- this was the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution. I went to a party to celebrate this victory. This photo is one of the images I returned with.

I intend, next year, to go to the large war reinactment that the state runs at the San Jacinto monument. I'm sure I'll have plenty to go with on it.
