Actually, I'm quite pleased. I worked pretty hard on this and got to apply a lot of my new knowledge.

Not the best 3D modelling ever, but still pretty cool.

Thank you! It is 3D based off a painting, which is why it looks painted. I study 3D, it's not just a hobby.

Thank you very much! I tried to still capture the fine art feel in spite of this being a 3D rendering.

Wow, that's insane. The amount of patience that must have took....man. The effort shows.

tsuki-no-neko In reply to rockett-queen [2006-04-26 03:25:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes, the patience. You called it. I don't know what drove me more crazy; the modeling ever little freaking thing, or the texturing. Insane is right!

rockett-queen In reply to tsuki-no-neko [2006-04-26 05:26:51 +0000 UTC]

Just thinking about it makes my eyes hurt. I only did super super basic stuff in the one 3d class I took in high school, mostly the exercises that come with cinema4d that don't even require modeling it yourself...just that took forever. Eesh.

At least you got a good grade.

Yea, it's really impossibly hard to create perfectly realistic rendering, but if it looks good, then I did something right.
