Hello there, fanart. Haven't seen you in a while.Yes, I entered a tournament for the club #Games-Pairings . I... didn't intend to enter to begin with but then thought, why the hell not? The tournament is really helping to broaden my horizons with my art.
We get given an opponent and a theme, draw around the theme and a winner is chosen. You probably know how tournaments go.
I'm in round one, against =Xavren and our theme was fireworks.
But Aku, I hear you cry, this doesn't have fireworks in it, you must be trippin'. D: Liek fo srs.
Well, gentle watcher, the contest is judged, not on art skill, but originality. Therefore, I decided to take a twist on the fireworks theme.
I made the flowers symbolise fireworks, mainly because fireworks appear at night, which makes a piece look dark and serious. The pairing I chose, Chie and Yosuke from persona 4, is quite light and joking. So the darkness didn't really suit them.
So, I hope all you people who watched me for my persona fanart originally like it, and even those of you who didn't watch me for that. Wish me luck~

Nice take on the fireworks theme - you're right that the usual nighttime setting might make this too serious for this pairing. As it is, there's a nice, easy joy to this captured moment that I really like. Plus, it's my favorite P4 couple ever. (花千枝 for the win!)
