Wow, talk about tone, texture, patterns, leading lines; it's all here!

One thing I would do though, would be to focus on the doorway at the end of the alley instead of the foreground. That is where the eye wants to rest (eventually) and I think the abstractness of the shapes and textures in the alley would be just as bold if they were a little out of focus.

I think if you took the same shot but moved forward just a little to include the whole lamppost, cut some of the cobbled floor in the foreground and focused on the doorway, this shot would look great blown up and hung on a feature wall.

That said, I think leaving the door out of focus gives it a painterly look which black and white makes quite whimsical. I like this shot. I find it compelling.

No worries. I only comment on things that really catch my eye and that I want to or just have to say something about. This was one of those fine images.

I just really dislike giving a comment such as "wow!" or the like without saying what I like about it.
