Description This is the typical stance of a home buyer in the birdhouse market. They fly in and land close and look over the house for a few minutes, generally it's the male. Then he'll go and look in the house a few times then fly off to find his mate, and bring her back to look at it. If she likes it, she'll plant herself cross ways to the hole and the male will fly off and collect some grass and come back and put it in the house.

As with the other houses, I built the house and in this case, Alice painted and did the work with the stickers.

How interesting ! Loved reading about what they do before deciding to
"buy" the house hahaha! So amazing!!!
I will try to convince hubby to do some for Valizas. I really love having birds around... How close are these houses to each other? How high are they built?
(I only fear a cat could come close and use a hand to fetch the birds...)

There's 4 that are about 5 feet off the ground, then 2 that are 8, and one that's about 6.5 feet off the ground. Well, regarding cats... If the babies fall out, yes a cat will get them. One thing about sparrows though, they'll hatch about 3 or 4 out of 6 eggs, so there's no shortage. At some point you have to decide that nature is going to take it's course.
I put the plans for these houses up, they are pretty simple to build.

I have the "Fairy" to finish painting yet, then I'll take a wide angle pic of it at night. I really need to get some new bulbs for my path lighting, as well.
