Attending a ceremony at the Coolsville 'Mystery Inc. Museum', the gang were fitted for replicas of their old 'classic' outfits. These were the clothes they'd saved for photos with the press, to look good for the camera. Daphne and Velma in particular were amazed at how different they looked in the old style, with their new sizes.
Of course, with the Mystery Inc. team as your honoured guests, you could never get away with a celebration that didn't also put out a huge free buffet of outstanding quality. This picture was taken of Daphne and Velma admiring their old outfits just before the ceremony but, by the end of the night, Velma's jumper had ridden up over a stuffed belly and Daphne had removed her belt entirely, stretching the seams of her purple dress to the ripping point.
With the city's favourite daughters, Daphne and Velma, in a lesbian relationship and both so huge, Coolsville had begun to expand hero worship into an enormous annual pride parade and a trend in local women to get fat. Most of the women at the party were clinically obese, at least. Daphne took pride in becoming such a trendsetter, and made a point of using phrases like 'fat', 'flabby', or 'fattened up' as compliments.
