There was no way Zira would open her eyes. She didn't dare too, she didn't want to. She heared the voice of the lion repeating his words again and again. Then, after a while, everything became quiet. Slowly she opened her eyes. She was still there, in the cave, and there was no big lion wanting to get her. Was he still there, like the previous time she thought he was gone? The little Zira tapped her paw against a stone, but the sound didn't attract the lion to come.
The moment she slowly walked out of the cave, she looked around her. A gasp escaped her mouth when she saw there was nobody. Nobody? Her mom! She immediately ran to the place she saw Neva for the last time, where the big lion hit her. But there was nobody.
''MOOOOM!'' Zira screamed, but noticed that wasn't a good idea. What if the lion was still there? What if he heared her?..
But she was still alone. No big lion, no mother. Then she heared something behind her and she turned around immediately. There she was, Neva, lying on the ground.
''Mom!'' She yelled as she ran to her mother. Neva's eyes were closed, she seemed to be sleeping. ''Mom? Let's go..'' Zira said as she pushed her head against her mothers. She saw the wound on her mothers back and nose. ''We gotta go back to the pride.. They must be waiting for us!'' Still no response. ''Mom.. You said we had to go.. The storm is coming..'' Zira pushed Neva once more. She bit her ear, pulling it with her but Neva was way too heavy for the little girl.
Then Zira felt more alone than ever before. Her mother was dead. And she didn't know the way back to the pride. ''Mom..'' She whispered as she laid down besides Neva.
