Beautiful, especially the eye.
Try sleeping in at a farm in the bush. You can't 'cos the kookaburras are going mental, like who didn't leave enough food for the chicks last night. Which is probably what they argue about, since they live in family groups, and you know what families are like.

I would love to hear that on a regular basis, if you can believe it.
I did hear a family of them going off, in the Dandenongs (where exactly I don't know... I was incredibly lost but didn't realise it at that point). Saw one of them going into a hole in the tree that was likely a nest, and 5 or 6 others were in the branches nearby. Ran into a couple more a little further ahead

Oh, yes, it's a beautiful sound, and I miss it. When you mimick them they go quiet 'cos they get confused, then the chattering really starts!.

Oh don't I know it. My final week in Australia was in Trinity Beach, and early in the mornings off in the distance there'd be a kookaburra or two going holy apeshit.
