A cheetah at the Toronto Zoo. This was the first time I have ever seen a cheetah up and active in any zoological facility, and the Toronto Zoo is the only place I have seen snow leopards up and about too.Cheetahs have unusually low genetic variability as a result of two bottlenecks in the past, and as such have a low reproduction rate. Cubs have a naturally high infant mortality rate due to predation. Conflicts with humans exacerbate the various challenges cheetahs face. Ambassadors such as this captive individual help people better connect with this imperiled species.

Thank you! It is easy to get the blurred background/bokeh with a 150-600mm lens, even if the f-stop isn't "ideal".
