New to the fandom..? Ravage is a "cat", peded-mode based off a panther type thing. Not a dog, though they do make that joke in All Hail Megatron. And Jazz only got yanked in half by Megatron in the first Bayformers movie. This doesn't stop fans from drawing or writing that version of him alive anyway, and does not affect his G1 self.
G1: The first Transformers series, more or less. And the 'vise a person has to watch at least the first season of to be considered a real fan, at least by some. XD [link]
The live action movies are fun and all, but the 'serious' stuff is in the cartoons. :>

It's not really a negotiable thing. Ravage is a mechanical (wild)cat. Just like Laserbeak is a mechanical bird, and Steeljaw is a mechanical lion. [link] Any TF fan knows this.

And my link before explained who Steeljaw was. He's an Autobot cassette, which is what Ravage and Laserbeak are in G1. (G1 = the first cartoon, which everything Transformers is more or less based from.)

Gah, the idea of Soundwave just spending hours by playing with Jazz's ankle wheels is cute enough to die over. Jazz starts out trying to pull his legs away but fails, because Soundwave is stronger. Then he tries to talk Soundwave out of it, but Soundwave doesn't answer so he has to give up that too. Finally he just settles for sitting back, clicking on As the Kitchen Sinks, and waiting for Soundwave to get tired of it. It'll be a while.
