Iiri and Daali are twins, born to two skillful (ex) con artists in Lilycove City, Hoenn. They didn't really like each other at all as kids - maybe because they were expected to get along because they were twins? Now that they have grown up and formed their own identities, they actually enjoy each other's company despite being polar opposites, personality-wise.

If Iiri was an animal, she would be a dog - energetic, very eager to meet new friends, and always dashing headfirst into new situations! Maybe that's why she is fond of dog-like Pokemon and likes to hoard them.

If Daali was an animal, he would definitely be a cat - quiet, reserved, likes to keep to himself, and is somewhat difficult to befriend due to said traits. That's why he enjoys cat-like Pokemon's company a lot.
