Doña Macabra is a Mexican comedy, horror and fantasy film produced in 1972, directed by Roberto Gavaldón and starring Marga López, Héctor Suárez, Carmen Montejo and Carmen Salinas.
Synopsis

The story is about a newly married couple, Otón Quiñónez (Héctor Suárez) and Lucila (Carmen Salinas), who after convincing Doña Macabra (Marga López), Lucila's aunt, with lies, come to live with her. Otón's real intentions are greedy and envious since he only wants to search for treasure and money buried in Doña Macabra's house, but the night they arrive Doña Macabra's old friend and companion, Demetria (Carmen Montejo) finds in the suitcases of Otto a tool for searching for treasures. She immediately tells Doña Macabra, and this causes the story to take a 180 degree turn.

Throughout the story Otón searches for the treasure, being attacked by dogs, panthers and experiencing scares. Finally Otón finds the hidden treasure using dynamite that Lucilla had bought for him, killing himself instantly. In the end Lucila stays to live with her aunt Doña Macabra and among all the others they share the fortune equally.
