Description

Janet van Dyne is The Wasp, a superhero with the abilities to shrink down to wasp size and fly and she also is able to harness and augment her body’s natural bio-electric energy into “stinger blasts”. She is a founding member of the AVENGERS (having come up with the name herself) and was created by Stan Lee, Ernie Hart and Jack Kirby, she first appeared in TALES TO ASTONISH #44 in June of 1963.

Before becoming a superhero, Janet was a gifted fashion designer and she continues to play in that world having designed hundreds of her own costumes and some for other heroes.
