This picture was based off of my favorite photo from acen. Its an image of my friend cosplaying as Genjyo Sanzo from the Manga/Anime Saiyuki, by Kazuya Minekura.

I decided i was going to draw this and send this to my friend for her birthday (last month). I was very inspired by the fact that this was a cosplay picture, and the fact that she had the hardest time nailing the glare. So i came up with the concept that she is herself, but when she put on the costume, Sanzo's personality took over. Which if you know him, he is a very angsty guy, with a lot of anger and issues, and she was the complet opposit. So the background represts her personality (the flowers) being taken over by his (the fog, dead trees, dead leaves, ect.) Im very excited to finally have finished this, now i just have to send this to her
