Description This is a short journey of a short study I did to improve my hands and body drawing. It is in chronological order, from left to right tp to bottom (whole pages of my art book put together here). On the first page, I was drawing from my head; I drew the cross-legged person, realised "well crap, this just aint gonna work it for me. Time to do some practices with refrences!". The hands on the first page are my own; it was after that I went online and got some references to draw from.

References used are from *SenshiStock (whole body poses and some hands), *ISOStock (hands) and ~EagleRacoonFox . The bottom third of the images are not referenced, they're just me trying to draw from my head.

Also on the bottom third, my sister drew the bodiless arm, explaining stuff about foreshortening (the crouching figure with the sword turned out shyte), nd also gave my alien man with a lanturn a bigger head so he finally looked human .

I wouldn't recommend using my own sketches for your own references, you're better off going to the stock providers I listed and using their stuff (my stuff is full of flaws).

Wow, those are actually really good hand studies. Most I see are pretty terrible, which makes it easy to see why the artist is practicing/studying. But yours look really good! Although in a few, it does look like you studied broken fingers, lol.

Lol yeah there was one particularly bad one, it was so shyte I redrew it beneath it (it was improved, but still disjointed). I find my biggest problem is I tend to segment the fingers when I am trying to give them their individuality (as apose to drawing generic fingers) and they often look dislocated or broken. But s'all good, I'll just keep practicing . But thank you

S'all good, I'm sorta in the same position (doing drawing between other commitments) so I understand. Sometimes I clear out my message centre of artworks, so send me a note whenever you like coz I never delete those without reading
