You know, as a little kid I don't think I ever remember seeing post-WWII women's underwear, except for little girls' underwear (which I believe predates WWII anyway). In cartoons like this one I would always see either bloomers or French knickers (which are a little shorter). I HEARD about bikinis, but I didn't know what they looked like and didn't actually see a woman wearing one until years later. Garter belts, bras, and breasts themselves were completely unknown to me (I saw cow udders, of course, but that was it). How far we all come over the years!
