I actually hate Cynder and the new Spyro games *is an old Spyro junkie* but she is pretty fun to draw.

I grew up with the original spyro games too, but I also love the LoS series; they're just two different types of games. Although I wish they'd make some more games like the originals, I also sort of wish they would continue with LoS as well. I kind of liked the idea of Spyro having a bit of a more serious backstory and whatnot, even if it's a bit cliche in parts. The characters really grow on you.
Very gorgeous picture, though! The lighting is magnificent! I love the way her poison breath looks!

While I agree that the original Spyro trilogy was better, I do think the Legend of Spyro series is still pretty fun and the story does stand pretty well on its own (The Eternal Night is the weakest link though).
Then again I might be a bit biased because I used to make up Spyro fanfic when I was in Junior High (1998-2001), and the LoS series ended up feeling eerily similar to it, complete with the black dragon love interest, wisecracking Sparx and demonic antagonist.

I remember being more impressed with the fandom that people had come up with for the LOS series than by the games themselves - whole worlds, species, characters...and with fabulous art to boot!
After some time playing some of the games (and doing a LOT of research online), I came up with a theory that all of the series could be considered part of one unified timeline...just not always with the same characters. In other words, LOS Spyro was the first Spyro (hence the use of "Legend" in the title), then a distant descendant of him and Cynder was the "Original" Spyro (by which point the world had taken a shift for the lighter), and then another distant descendant of that Spyro and...whoever you want to pair him with was the Skylanders Spyro (whose distinctive look was the result of him being an entirely new breed of dragon). The old Spyro games were the best, I must agree. Although, Cynder isn't that bad a character, besides being a God character (op). Good picture btw.

I miss old Spyro too D; I don't know anything about Cynder or the new Spyro but I think she's interesting since it's the first female dragon I ever seen in a Spyro game.
