Pussy of a pacifist? Uh, dude. His pacifism has limits. Just ask Rau kebab or the crew of the Messiah.
As for the video, I've seen it and agree with a few points, but honestly....how else could they have gotten Kira to part with the Freedom? Considering what it meant to him, he wouldn't have let it become a hand-me-down. So, keeping the plot points of Shinn wins, Freedom destroyed beyond repair, Kira survives...how could it have been done differently?

Actually, It is possible for Shinn's Gundam to have survived. They were in midair, so the explosion would have indeed morphed the Gundam's body like it did, but it would have also sent it flying head over heals away. If you actually look at Impulse, It's hoving somewhere else instead of where it was when Freedom exploded. However the the cockpit would not have protected Shinn from all that radiation, and he would have been suffering from sever radiation poisoning. and For Kira, deactivating a nuclear reactor WHILE it's going critical doesn't do jack shit. Kira would have died from the explosion. Plus, Freedom was also hit by the Tomhoser which is a Dark Matter blast. The resulting explosion was actually 10x worse for Kira. In fact, Kira and the Freedom would have been completely decintagrated from it, while Impulse would have just been tossed like a ragdoll.

The point is, neither Shinn nor Kira should of gotten away from that nuclear explosion untouched.
