Description Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone! I think this photo fits for today.

I woke up the other day, I saw this little fella, and I grabbed my camera, I was surprised I didn't scare her away being out there, I was very excited to see a hummingbird this early in the year, last time I saw one, was last year of July.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm PRETTY sure this is a Female Black-chinned Hummingbird, I can't be positive, but I'm pretty sure.

Every time I look at your photos, they remind me of a film I watched some time ago...anyway I finally remembered the name of the film, "Off the Map" about a family living 25 miles from town in New Mexico

Great shot, here in Phoenix we have hummingbirds about all year round and in the sixteen years I have lived here I have yet to get a picture of one. They just don't stay still long enough as a rule.

Thanks! All year round? How cool! I had my shutter speed at 1/400 for this shot, it actually helps a lot to have it lower shutter, because it takes faster pictures, and that's good with hummingbirds, because they are fast little fellows!
