Description Crash Tag Team Racing the movie, anyone?

I don't care what people say, Willie Wumpa Cheeks is actually a great Crash villain and the fact you see him actively backstab his boss and destroy the theme park he's employed at in the process is really cool. You can tell he's passed the point of any sort of reason and just wants to cause mayhem and hurt his boss any way he can rather than thinking of the consequences because he hates Von Clutch that much.

Some fruits just want to watch the world burn.

I decided to test a new CSP brush for sketching and inking and this just sorta happened. I will probably be the first person to ever connect these two games, but this was somewhat inspired by the fact "The Ultimate Show" from Super Paper Mario came on my iPod while inking this.

Fake screenshot practice and an excuse to draw fire, really. I love doing these because you don't have to worry too much about shading.

This looks freaking devious and awesome!!
I actually really hope he gets into CTR: Nitro Fueled as DLC, along with Von Clutch and Pasadena!

The truth Willy would have been a more challenging villain had it not been for his short confrontation, which makes the battle against cotrex in the second game look like Stormy Ancent, I find CTTR innovative to CTR and CNK, but the only thing that fails is the lack of bosses.

I really wish this game had boss scenarios to be honest.

Willie Wumpa Cheek's "boss battle" is "press this button to receive the ending cutscene" and it really stinks that, in a game where the gimmick is that your car can have a giant weapon attached to it, there were no giant boss battles where you use your giant weapon to attack something.

Madness, as you know, is like gravity, all it takes is a little push.

*Willie sets a pile of money on fire while Von Clutch is on top of it*

Ah good ole Willie Wumpa Cheeks. I love the coloring and the fire background, makes him look more evil.

I have to agree with you, Willie is definitely an underrated villain. The fact that he was mad at VC for how he treated him and the rest of his employees is understandable, but seriously you think he could have found an easier way to get rid of him.

What makes Willie such a fascinating villain is that, in a way, he's right. Von Clutch does treat his employees like garbage (and if you talk to Von Clutch, you get a clue that he's pretty much a supervillain himself) and his job is humiliating and no one likes him, with several of the parkgoers commenting on how scary he is. If he stopped Von Clutch and the park shut down, people would probably be happier in the long run.

I'm guessing Willie just felt trapped and he went past the point where he cared of what happened to him, just so long as Von Clutch both got hurt in the process and knew that Willie did it. I think that's why he had to be like "I did it, it was me!" in that one cutscene. He just had to see the look on Von Clutch's face...

Willie Wumpa Cheeks didn't want to take over the world; he just wanted to kill one person and possibly get a death trap of a theme park shut down.

Oh Willie. You were such a fruity little bastard.

But in all seriousness, he actually wasn't too bad of a villain, considering the fact he was mad about his boss (and in a way, you sorta cant blame him, lmao)

The colors and contrast look great, especially with the warm coloring you kept with the picture. Always nice to have a palette to stick to!

I've seen too many "Worst Crash Bandicoot character" lists that include this guy at the top, when really he did have a fun motivation. You're introduced to Von Clutch as this kooky happy Willy Wonka type of character who smiles a lot and utters a lot of silly German phrases, while Willie is the one that accentuates the fact that yes, Von Clutch is totally dangerous to his employees and he has a completely understandable motivation. Even if you ignore the extended backstory I've given him that really twists the knife in the Wumpa Whip, Willie has a point. He's lashing out at someone who does need to be stopped.

Just...maybe in a more legal fashion, Willie. You have a point but you're also being a real jerk about it.

And of course! Wouldn't want cool coloring in the middle of a massive inferno. 8U

I love the authentic 80's-90's cartoon feel with the crispiness (noisiness?) and the little shadow from the animation celluloid. The lighting and color scheme are great. If I didn't know anything about Crash Bandicoot and saw this image out of context, you could've fooled me.

I agree; Willie Wumpa Cheeks is an underrated villain. I'm not too familiar with CTTR even though I have played it many moons ago, and I remember that I disliked Willie with all my heart but my opinion on him has changed. Aaaand I think your interpretation of him (like, the background you have given him) has affected my change of heart a lot.

Hahahaha, you're not the first one to say that your opinion on Willie has changed after seeing my interpretation of him, and honestly, it's always super heartwarming to hear that I'm changing people's minds and they're liking Willie Wumpa Cheeks more. I've been kinda a one man band in regards to the whole Willie thing, and I think I've helped changed things around for the freaky talking fruit amongst the Crash fans considering how much more fan material there is for him now as opposed to around this time last year.

It's funny how just making him "human" really explains a lot. (although I will say there are cut lines of dialogue on the CTTR disc where he says that he once went to law school and has parents; not completely canon since he never says it in-game but still.)
