Well then that first thought definitely can compare π but it's more like growing up around someone you despised and then coming to have a crush on that someone in later years.
My personal head cannon (and most of the fandom's I think) is that Pacifica became a better person as she aged up into her teens. And so as Dipper may have hated her for the things she did when she was 12, she's a lot different now, he's just gotta come to terms with that.
