I love both of them too!
I'm not sure if i mentioned it but i'll be working on making brooch pins inspired by Disney and anime show [link] I'll be posting up ideas before putting them up for sale. Hopefully in 2 months. I'll make a journal post about it soon.

no, you haven't mentioned it
glad to know that you want to try something new
but how do you do it? are you going to draw designs only? or make it by yourself?

mzclark In reply to TurquoiseSpark [2011-09-04 20:04:55 +0000 UTC]

nope, I'm buying supplies off Etsy.com and a from few craft stores in town. However, I will draw out my ideas and such. If it looks ok i'll post em up. I'm a very visual person and it's frustrating to go to the stores and not know exactly what i need.
Here's my journal: [link]

i see, you know i have the similar set of problems : it's very rare when i'm completely satisfied with my purchases and it takes many time to chose between this or that thing
so, i will wait for your sketches and drawings

not just that but my b/f is the only one working so i cant go haywire and buy every pretty lil thing I'm also trying to figure out if anime or disney/movie inspired ideas are the better of the two. I'm thinkin anime for now but i'm not finding all the charms i need

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TurquoiseSpark In reply to mzclark [2011-09-13 09:42:23 +0000 UTC]

what's b/f?
and what kind of charms are you looking for?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mzclark In reply to TurquoiseSpark [2011-09-13 18:11:23 +0000 UTC]

lol. b/f is "boyfriend". For anime i'm looking for charms in relation to the show. Example: "Beauty and the Beast" would be rose, mirror, castle, teapot/cup. Something ppl can see and be like "Ohh, thats such n such!"
I am trying to find stuff for Full Metal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo n a few others with not so typical elements/symbols. I'd have to rewatch the shows tho and look for symbols n such. But i also dont want to make them if ppl aren't gonna buy em. A few titles will have to be commission and done a lil diff.

TurquoiseSpark In reply to mzclark [2011-09-25 07:58:20 +0000 UTC]

i see know...

i thinks that symbols for FMA are a watch of state Alchemists, different alchemic pentagrams and other stuff, Roy's gloves
for SC ... maybe Jin's glasses, Mugen's sword, Fuu's squirrel and her tanto with a skull
For CB... it's hard...

mzclark In reply to TurquoiseSpark [2011-09-26 05:56:38 +0000 UTC]

Good idea! Yeah CB is hard. I havent found good spacecrafts. I more than likely have to put the jewelry on hold til i get a job tho. But i'm still researching supplies. Hoping to get a business license set-up so i can order from anime manufacturers.

Devenue [2011-06-05 13:37:54 +0000 UTC]

Acrylic? I thought you prefer watercolors

It's not very realistic, and tower is a little askew, but it looks really interesting.! Your style is way different than mine, i think you're better at painting than drawing! I love the way you painted it all. Lake lookss great, and these trees. Great job with connecting shades of green. I also like the way light spreads in your picture. It's really good, don't be stupid!

---i'm a genius. I should be telling you what to draw or paint all the time

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TurquoiseSpark In reply to Devenue [2011-06-05 18:51:05 +0000 UTC]

yes, you're right!
But i know that you like acrylic, so i wanted to draw something using acrylic! i have problems with geometric figures so i decided to draw all this scenery stuff to attract attention
still i'm not satisfied but indeed it's a good experience
even it's just a photo, not scanned picture!

Devenue In reply to TurquoiseSpark [2011-06-06 15:33:26 +0000 UTC]

Really? It's even more impressing then.

what exactly "Really?" ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Devenue In reply to TurquoiseSpark [2011-06-06 18:08:31 +0000 UTC]

I'm surprised, you did it using a picture, not computer.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TurquoiseSpark In reply to Devenue [2011-06-06 18:27:31 +0000 UTC]

all my works are traditional, but i can improve the quality of the picture, for example to erase some tiny spots in Photoshop
Here i even couldn't scan it because it's bigger than A4, so i just make a photo, without using any digital improvements

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Devenue In reply to TurquoiseSpark [2011-06-07 16:33:38 +0000 UTC]

I thought that you used a...physical photo to draw it. That's what i meant.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TurquoiseSpark In reply to Devenue [2011-06-07 17:03:54 +0000 UTC]

No, it's drawn from the refernce, but it wasn't a photo, may be it's an made-up landscape! don't know

only when you receive such a plesent comment you start to appreciate your own work!

TurquoiseSpark In reply to ukiqio [2011-06-12 19:22:24 +0000 UTC]

thanks! i understand you perfectly!
each time when it's dealt with someting new or traditional, some problems take place!!!
are you going to submit some of your oil works? it would be interesting!

ukiqio In reply to TurquoiseSpark [2011-06-13 09:59:09 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's what exactly what happen to me
when I tried painting with oil paint.
It's so horrible, that's makes me want to bury it, LoL.
